Souichirou Hoshi, the voice actor for Kira Yamato in Gundam SEED/ Destiny. Before that, he was Sun Goku,the monkey, in Saiyuki Reload (Athrun's voice actor, Ishida Akira, was Hakkai,the pig while Rey za Burrel's voice actor, Toshihiko Seki, was Sanzo, the monk.)
From SEED onwards, I took on an interest in watching anime in which he is involved just to hear how versatile his voice could be. But Hoshi isn't the first voice actor or seiyuu to spark my interest in the voice talents department. Credit goes to Takehito Koyasu in Bobobobobobobo for his ability to move from low bass to squeaky soprano, all in a single character. He is also the seiyuu of Mwu la Fllaga/Neo Lorrnoke.

Back to Hoshi, I never knew his versatility until I heard him yell "O, Oyakatasama!!!" in Sengoku BASARA (戦国バサラ) as Sanada Yukimura(真田幸村). I never knew he could be capable of playing the hot-blooded type. When I first heard the red guy yell, my mind went blank. The contrast was too huge that my brain couldn't function from the shock. When I listened to a voice sample for 真田幸村 in the official website, my mind would still lapse into emptiness occassionally.
Since then, I added "Sengoku BASARA" section in my website to deposit the fruits of my kuso creativity.

The same cannot be said for Meine Liebe Weider, a suspiciously Boys' Love anime. It's about a school and a lot of bishounens 美少年. One particular character called Camus made my ears prick. I thought to myself," Aha, here's a seiyuu who is most likely to be female." My god, and this petite character is the delicate physique, passive type who is typically uke-ed(受け) by the other boys in a Boys Love situation. [R18]
